Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Transportation Planner in Plano, TX to consolidate client orders, plan loads, and assign carriers using a Transportation Management System. You will monitor on-time performance and respond to client needs while negotiating with carriers to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in related roles, experience with TMS, strong communication, and excellent planning skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related experience.
• Minimum 1 year customer service or coordinator experience.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems.
• Experience with optimization tools preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Consolidates client orders into optimal load profiles and assigns carriers to loads using TMS.
• Responsible for load planning, optimization, routing and scheduling of all transportation modes.
• Develops and implements final stage system parameters to drive load assignments and bookings.
• Responds to client needs by emails, calls, tracking shipments.
• Direct point of contact for client issues needing immediate attention.
• Recommends corrective action to client or executives for complaints.
• Monitors on-time pick-up/delivery based on daily reports.
• Negotiates with carriers within client parameters, making best financial decisions.
