Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Transportation Planner in Brentwood, TN to consolidate client orders into optimal load profiles and manage carrier assignments using our Transportation Management System (TMS).

You will coordinate load planning, routing, and scheduling across transportation modes, respond to client inquiries, and provide weekly and monthly performance reports while seeking continuous service improvements and cost savings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or coordinator role.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems.
• Experience with optimization tools preferred.
• PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Consolidates client orders into optimal load profiles and assigns carriers.
• Responsible for load planning, optimization, routing and scheduling of all transportation modes.
• Develops and implements final stage system parameters that drive load assignments.
• Responds to client needs by emails, calls, tracking and moving shipments.
• Serves as the daily point of contact for client issues requiring immediate attention.
• Creates, analyzes and presents financial and service reports to clients on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
