Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr. Manager, Transportation to lead a safety- and service-oriented team in our Plainfield, IL distribution center.

You will drive safe, accurate, and timely outbound shipments to customers and other distribution centers, while ensuring a secure and compliant work environment for all associates. Onboarding in Aurora, IL, with duties based in Plainfield IL, you will coach Transportation Managers, develop drivers, manage performance, and uphold DOT and OSHA standards to meet

Qualifications

Minimum of five years in transportation/delivery supervision.
Strong leadership and people development skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with all departments within the company.
Understanding of DOT and OSHA requirements.
Ability to interpret financial and operational data.

Responsibilities

Achieve safety, service, and cost targets in the Transportation department.
Oversee and develop Transportation Managers through coaching and policy training.
Oversee and develop drivers and transportation personnel; address gaps and retain associates.
Monitor staffing; review performance and deliver disciplinary action as needed.
Ensure on-time, accurate deliveries and compliance with DOT/state/federal regulations.
Identify cost-reduction strategies and optimize production flow while maintaining safety.
