Job summary

US Foods in Tampa is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead a team of drivers and transportation staff, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers. You will coach staff, monitor performance, and align with DOT rules and safety procedures.

The role requires 3+ years in transportation or warehousing with at least 1 year of supervisory experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office for planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Strong knowledge of DOT requirements and OSHA/regulatory expectations.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to ensure injury-free operations for drivers and associates.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation staff through coaching and policy training.
• Manage performance, coaching, and disciplinary actions to meet targets.
• Schedule shifts and plan using tools like Microsoft Excel; ensure DOT compliance.
• Drive cost-effective and legal solutions to delivery issues and waste reduction.
• Collaborate with transportation leaders and internal customers to meet service goals.
