Job summary

NAPA Distribution Center is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead outbound operations, planning, and carrier management in Indianapolis. You will drive on-time deliveries, optimize routes, manage costs, and ensure safety compliance across transportation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, logistics, business or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive transportation or logistics leadership experience in distribution.
• Experience with routing, load planning and freight optimization.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead outbound transportation for the Indianapolis Distribution Center, ensuring on-time deliveries.
• Manage daily dispatch, routing, scheduling, and load planning for efficiency.
• Oversee carrier relationships, performance metrics, and cost control.
• Monitor KPI performance: on-time delivery, cost per mile, cube utilization, route efficiency.
• Ensure DOT, FMCSA and OSHA compliance and safety procedures.
• Coordinate dock schedules with warehouse leadership and labor planning.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Lead budgeting, freight expense tracking and variance reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement and contingency planning for disruptions.
