Job summary

JD Logistics (US) Inc. is seeking an experienced Middle Mile Operations professional to lead and optimize our middle mile transportation operations in New Jersey.

You’ll manage end-to-end processes across drayage, FTL/LTL linehaul, and freight forwarding, overseeing company-owned vehicles and an external carrier network. You will develop transportation strategies, refine route networks, implement TMS initiatives, and monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery and cost per shipment, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation/logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Bilingual fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is required for HQ coordination.
• Demonstrated experience managing carrier relationships, rate negotiations, and RFP/RFQ processes.
• Proficiency with TMS platforms, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Transportation planning and strategy for Drayage, Middle Mile, and freight operations.
• Optimize linehaul processes including port drayage and warehouse-to-warehouse routes.
• Design routes to maximize load efficiency and minimize empty miles.
• Lead TMS implementation and digitization initiatives.
• Manage company-owned fleet and external carrier partnerships.
• Source, evaluate, onboard carriers; negotiate rates and contracts.
• Establish carrier performance scorecards and monitor compliance.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance for internal fleet and contracted carriers.
• Monitor KPIs like cost per shipment, on-time rate, and load factor.
• Prepare operations reports and dashboards for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse Ops, Customs, and Customer Service.
• Handle client SLA reviews and escalation resolution.
• Drive root-cause analysis for claims and risk management.
