Job summary

Beacon Mobility is hiring an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee a multi-service, fast-paced transportation operation. You will manage 50+ drivers, 49+ daily routes, 60+ vehicles, and a team of Transportation Coordinators and Trainers at our Hudson, MA office.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in a similar environment, and strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in operations management, business administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive work experience in a fast-paced environment with hourly staff and metrics management.
• Proficient experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Maintain a good driving record and support student-focused operations.
• Must be comfortable with early-morning hours.
• Exhibit strong leadership and the ability to supervise and direct teams.
• Effective customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Safety and compliance leadership with knowledge of DOT, SPED, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively and handle difficult conversations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as contact to the school districts we serve.
• Interview, hire, and train new transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Prepare monthly work schedules.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors.
• Ensure all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing.
• Oversee the maintenance function at your office and keep vans ready.
• Review and prepare billing each month.
• Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned by Senior Operations Manager or VP.
