Job summary

Beacon Mobility in Brattleboro, VT is hiring an Operations Manager to oversee 30+ drivers, routes, vehicles, coordinators, mechanics and trainers from our Brattleboro office.

Qualifications

• Maintain a good driving record and be comfortable with early-morning hours.

• Demonstrated leadership and ability to supervise teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact to school districts and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
• Communicate with staff to ensure resources are available to meet daily tasks.
• Partner with safety leaders to maintain a safety-first culture.
• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly and monthly.
• Interview, hire, and train transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Identify and develop internal talent for next-level positions.
• Prepare monthly work schedules.
• Maintain staffing levels for drivers and monitors with a positive work culture.
• Ensure all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing.
• Coordinate fleet maintenance to keep vans and buses operational and safe.
• Review and prepare billing and payroll each month.

About the Role

• Serve as the primary contact to the school districts and ensure strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the school districts.
• Effective and frequent communication with staff ensures employees have available resources to meet the daily operational task successfully.
• Partners with safety leaders to establish and maintain a ‘safety-first’ culture.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics.
• Interview, hire, and train new transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of internal talent for next-level positions.
• Prepare monthly work schedules.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors by driving a positive work culture.
• Ensure all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing.
• Work with fleet maintenance to keep vans and buses operational and safe.
• Review and prepare billing and payroll each month.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in operations management, business administration, or related field.
