Job summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety-driven Transportation department, ensuring safe and timely outbound shipments across distribution centers.

You will manage drivers and clerical staff while upholding service standards for customers and compliance with DOT regulations. You will coach and develop team members, schedule shifts using planning tools, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and costs while maintaining safety and

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
• Strong understanding of DOT requirements. Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to ensure injury-free operations for drivers, customers, and the public.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and training, ensuring proper knowledge of policy, safety, and responsibilities.
• Discuss performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and create improvement plans.
• Create an environment of upward communication and motivate staff to meet department goals.
• Direct and supervise drivers and clerical staff, drive engagement, and uphold US Foods values.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring transportation personnel and review performance.
• Monitor production goals, troubleshoot delivery issues, and ensure DOT compliance.
