Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager II in Wisconsin. This role involves direct driver management, safety compliance, and ensuring safe, on-time freight movement. You will handle load assignments, optimize routes, and support customer service across shifts including nights and weekends.

The position requires strong communication, KPI analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to improve profitability and service quality in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience analyzing operations, profitability, and KPIs, and presenting reports.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safety teams.
• Fill in for absent personnel and optimize fleet operations for profitability.
• Train and orient drivers and staff, and assist with customer systems.
• Analyze fleet operations, determine KPIs, and present customer-specific reports.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight to meet on-time delivery targets.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure safety and availability of equipment.
• Manage payroll, driver counseling, and invoicing; resolve pay issues.
