Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager II to oversee driver management, routing, and performance. You will supervise a midsize driver count, ensure DOT compliance, and coordinate with customers for timely freight movements and service excellence.

The role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts while maintaining safety and profitability targets. A strong background in logistics is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics or related fields.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Demonstrated communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with drivers and safety to reduce turnover and improve productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special fleet optimization projects.
• Train drivers and staff; assist with internal and customer systems.
• Analyze fleet operations and profitability; present reporting and financial analysis.
• Manage yard, equipment maintenance, and preventative services scheduling.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight to ensure safe, on-time service.
• Ensure DOT compliance and enforce company safety policies.
