Job summary
US Foods is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety‑driven Transportation department and ensure safe, accurate, and timely outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers. You will manage drivers and Transportation associates, coach on policy, and drive cost‑effective operations while maintaining DOT compliance.
The role requires several years of transportation/delivery experience, leadership ability, and strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
- Experience as a driver is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety-first culture across Transportation department.
- Coach and develop drivers and associates; ensure training on policy and procedures.
- Oversee performance and create plans to address gaps with Sr. Transportation Managers.
- Supervise work and productivity; drive engagement and retention.
- Maintain DOT compliance and cost-effective, safe operations.
- Interview and hire Transportation personnel; review performance and provide feedback.
