Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Manager of Transportation to lead a safety‑driven, cost‑conscious transportation team. You will manage drivers and transportation associates, ensuring safe, accurate and timely outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers.

The role requires coaching, policy enforcement, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in transportation or warehouse operations, a strong leadership background, and a solid understanding of DOT

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Experience as a driver is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to maintain injury-free operations for drivers, customers, and the public.
• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through coaching and training, ensuring policy and safety compliance.
• Direct and supervise work within the Transportation department, driving engagement and achieving department goals.
• Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Identify waste and implement process improvements to raise safety and efficiency.
• Investigate accidents and implement preventative actions to reduce recurrence.
• Schedule shifts using planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Support relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
