Job summary

Sloan Valve Company in Franklin Park, IL, is seeking a Transportation Analyst to support transportation planning, carrier management, and compliance to ensure timely, cost‑effective movement of goods.

You will analyze freight spend and carrier performance, manage daily spot quotes and load tenders, identify cost-saving opportunities, and collaborate with freight forwarders to clear international shipments and assign HTS codes. This role offers a hybrid work program and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of transportation or logistics experience.
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage the transportation claims process and collect required paperwork.
• Evaluate domestic and international transportation issues.
• Analyze transportation data, freight costs, and shipment trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage daily spot quoting and load tendering processes.
• Analyze carrier performance trends and develop recommendations to improve service.
• Analyze freight audit and payment activity to identify discrepancies and improve controls.
• Support carrier sourcing events, contract negotiations, and bid analysis.
• Analyze shipment and delivery trends to identify recurring service issues.
• Coordinate ad-hoc pickups, returns, and 3rd party shipments.
• Classify and assign HTS codes to new products.
• Create export documents and work with freight forwarders to clear shipments.
