Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking transportation professionals to advance planning, modeling, and analytics across multimodal transportation projects. The role emphasizes freight planning, travel demand modeling, and data-driven solutions for public and private sector clients.

The team collaborates across disciplines to deliver innovative transport solutions, with opportunities to work on statewide, regional, and intermodal studies in a collaborative, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Freight Transportation, Data Science, Planning or related field.
• 0–4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Python or R for data processing and analytics.
• Experience planning for multimodal transportation systems for people and freight.
• Knowledge of transportation planning, traffic engineering, and travel demand modeling principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support transportation systems management and operations, traffic operations, transportation planning, and freight mobility projects using a mix of tools.
• Conduct freight transportation planning studies to support multimodal transportation, freight mobility, and logistics planning.
• Analyze multimodal mobility using large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for performance improvement.
• Develop traffic forecasts, origin-destination analyses, and network performance measures.
• Support freight modeling and analytics including logistics optimization and scenario evaluation.
• Prepare technical reports, public-facing transportation plans, data visualizations, GIS products, and client presentations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver freight planning and transportation projects.
