Job summary

Baxter & Woodman, a leader in technology and innovation, invites you to join as a Transportation Engineering Intern in Illinois offices. This paid internship supports the planning and design of transportation facilities and offers hands-on experience within a transportation design team.

You will gain exposure to CAD, plan reviews, traffic analysis, data collection, and field inspections while collaborating with seasoned professionals. May start May 2027, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree with emphasis in Transportation Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Plan Review and CAD tasks for transportation projects.
• Assist with quantity computations and plan preparation.
• Support traffic analysis and data collection efforts.
• Contribute to data collection, surveying, and field inspections.
• Assist construction inspection activities under supervision.

About The Role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Intern in our Bannockburn, Chicago O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL offices. This on-the-job experience will support the firm’s transportation department with the planning and design of a variety of transportation facilities and offer the opportunity to work within a transportation design team.

Compensation

-The hourly pay for this role is $23.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.”
