Baxter & Woodman Inc. is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern to join our Milwaukee or Waterford, WI offices.

This on-the-job opportunity supports the transportation department in planning and design of various facilities within a collaborative design team. The role involves CAD, quantity calculations, traffic analysis, data collection, survey work, and construction inspection, with May 2027 start and travel within Baxter & Woodman’s service area required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree with Transportation emphasis.
• Available to start May 2027 and able to travel within Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
• Strong written, verbal and organizational skills; team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience with CAD for transportation projects.
• Assist in quantity calculations and traffic analysis.
• Support data collection and survey activities on-site.
• Participate in construction inspection and project coordination.

About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Intern in our Milwaukee or Waterford, WI offices. This on-the-job experience will support the firm’s transportation department with the planning and design of a variety of transportation facilities and offer the opportunity to work within a transportation design team.

Education Requirement

Compensation -The hourly pay for this role is $23.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
