Job summary

Baxter & Woodman invites you to join as a Transportation Engineering Intern in our Peoria Heights, IL offices. This on-the-job experience supports the transportation department with planning and design of a variety of facilities, offering exposure to a dedicated transportation design team.

You will gain hands-on experience with CAD, traffic analysis, data collection, surveys, and construction inspection while pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree and developing strong teamwork,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with focus in Transportation Engineering.
• Available to start May 2027.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
• Team-oriented with strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CAD designs and drafting.
• Perform quantity computations for projects.
• Analyze traffic conditions and impacts.
• Collect field data for design work.
• Conduct surveys as needed.
• Support construction inspection activities.

Compensation

-The hourly pay for this role is $23.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
