Job summary

Baxter & Woodman seeks a Transportation Engineer Project Manager to lead and develop transportation projects across Illinois offices. The role focuses on design leadership for IDOT and Local Agency projects, with responsibilities spanning planning, design, and coordination with multiple agencies.

Ideal candidates have a PE license, a Civil Engineering degree, and 5+ years’ experience with IDOT/Local Agency Phase II documents. Travel across Illinois is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 5+ years’ experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents.
• Microstation/Open Roads Designer capabilities preferred.
• Ability to travel throughout Illinois service areas.

Responsibilities

• Manage/complete engineering plans using IDOT Standards.
• Lead IDOT or Local Agency Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
• Lead projects and studies: roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, infrastructure improvements.
• Provide general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Assist with business development and client management opportunities.
• Prepare project proposals, contracts and teaming arrangements; participate in interviews.
