Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Transportation Engineer Project Manager in Peoria Heights, IL. The role centers on design leadership for state, county, tollway, and local agency projects, including Phase I & II bid documents.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of IDOT/local agency bid experience, P.E. licensure, and strong teamwork. Travel within Illinois and client management responsibilities are included in the position.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents.
• Proficiency with Microstation/Open Roads Designer; IDOT workflow understanding.
• Willingness to travel within Illinois service areas.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
• Team-first culture alignment.

Responsibilities

• Manage/complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
• Manage/complete IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for various clients.
• Lead projects in roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
• Provide general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Assist with business development and client management for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare project proposals, contracts, teaming arrangements, and participate in interviews.
