Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Transportation Engineer Project Manager to lead design efforts across multiple Illinois offices including Crystal Lake, Chicago, Naperville, Mokena and Bannockburn. Responsibilities include managing IDOT and local agency projects, coordinating plan development, and supporting business development.

A PE license and 5+ years of related experience are required. The role offers collaboration across disciplines in a team-first culture within a leading engineering firm

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years in IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents.
Licensed Professional Engineer required or pursued with active licensure in IL.
Ability to travel within Baxter & Woodman Illinois service areas.
Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering plans and specs production using IDOT Standards.
Manage IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I & II projects.
Oversee road, utility, drainage, and infrastructure projects for public clients.
Support business development and client management for transportation projects.
