Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Transportation Engineer Project Manager for its Peoria Heights, IL office. The role focuses on design leadership and development of transportation projects for State, County, Tollway, and Local Agencies, including Phase I/II bid documents.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years’ experience with IDOT or Local Agency Phase II documents, are licensed PE, and can travel across Illinois. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents (10+ years).
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s Illinois service areas (own transportation).
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design leadership and development of transportation projects for State, County, Tollway, and Local Agencies.
• Manage IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
• Lead roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure studies.
• Provide general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Assist with business development and client management opportunities (preferred).
• Prepare project‑specific proposals, contracts, and teaming arrangements; participate in interviews.
