Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer I for our offices in Bannockburn, Chicago O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL. The role focuses on design and construction engineering for state, county, and local agencies, collaborating with diverse disciplines.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering, can travel across our service area, and possesses strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design Roadway, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements using Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Prepare engineering plans and specifications using IDOT standards.
• Process Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for multiple clients.
