Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is hiring an entry-level Transportation Engineer I for offices in Bannockburn, Chicago O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL. You will contribute to design and construction engineering on a range of transportation projects for state, county, and local agencies.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, exposure to OpenRoads/Civil 3D, and a path toward FE certification. Travel within the service area is required.

Responsibilities

• Design Roadway, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements using Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Complete engineering plans and specifications using IDOT Standards.
• Process Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
• Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Assist project engineers and managers with tasks required for project delivery.
