Job summary

Baxter and Woodman Inc. invites transportation engineers to join our Crystal Lake, Chicago, Naperville, Mokena, or Bannockburn, IL offices, leading design for IDOT and Local Agency projects.

A B.S. in Civil Engineering, a Licensed Professional Engineer, and 5+ years of IDOT or Local Agency Phase II experience are required; travel within Illinois is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
• Manage/Complete IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
• Lead projects including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
• Provide general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare project-specific proposals, contracts, and teaming arrangements, and participate in project interviews.
