Baxter & Woodman Inc. seeks an entry-level Transportation Engineer for our Bannockburn, Chicago O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL offices.

You will contribute to design and construction engineering on transportation projects for state, county, and local agencies, collaborating across disciplines. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering and is eager to learn in a team-focused, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
• Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
• Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.

Responsibilities

• Design Roadway, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements using Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Complete engineering plans and specifications using IDOT Standards.
• Process Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
• Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required for project delivery.
