Job summary

Werner Enterprises Inc. seeks a Fleet Manager to build and sustain driver relationships, optimize loads, and coordinate with multiple departments.

You will work with Dedicated Logistics teams to meet service goals, manage payroll and equipment issues, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years in fleet management, plus 6–12 months of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years in fleet management/transportation preferred.
• Six months to one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and management abilities; proficient with computers and satellite communications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships by addressing home time, payroll, equipment issues, and compliance needs.
• Collaborate with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads by origin, destination, freight type, miles, and stops.
• Align with customer dynamics, service expectations, and Werner goals to improve value for the customer and Werner.
• Coordinate with billing, safety, payroll, maintenance, and external vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a full board of drivers with the Dedicated or Operations Manager; ensure timely attendance per schedule.
