Job summary

Baxter and Woodman Inc offers a Transportation Engineering Intern role across multiple IL offices (Bannockburn, O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, Mokena). You will contribute to planning and design in the transportation team, gain hands-on experience, and work with senior staff on real projects.

Candidates pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree with a transportation emphasis should be prepared to travel, collaborate in a team environment, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering.
• Availability to start May 2027 and travel within Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for a transportation design team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in CAD design and plan production for transportation facilities.
• Perform quantity computations and traffic analysis as part of project work.
• Collect data, conduct surveys, and support construction inspection activities.
