Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc. is hiring an entry-level Transportation Engineer for multiple IL offices (Bannockburn, O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, Mokena). You will design roadway and infrastructure projects, perform drainage and traffic studies, and prepare plans following IDOT standards.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, with internship experience in municipal/highway projects and an EIT/FE certification preferred. Travel within the service area is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• F.E. (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred.
• Willingness to travel within Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
• Internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design roadway, underground utility, and infrastructure improvements using Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Prepare civil engineering plans and specifications using IDOT standards.
• Process Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
• Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
