Job summary

Tetra Tech in Oklahoma City is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to lead the development of design plans and reports for highway and urban projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with ODOT/OTA standards.

The role emphasizes client relationships, technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and travel to project sites as needed; a PE in Oklahoma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license in Oklahoma.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering experience, including 3+ years on ODOT/OTA projects.
• Knowledge of relevant transportation engineering codes and industry standards.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads software.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage design plans for ODOT and OTA projects.
• Produce design plans that meet ODOT/OTA standards and specifications.
• Prepare summaries of quantities, pay items, and notes for highway projects.
• Develop cost estimates and engineering reports.
• Design horizontal and vertical alignments and complete 3D modeling using MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support project acquisition efforts.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to define project scope, budget, staffing needs, and review design team work.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Support the environmental clearance process as required.
• Participate in a flexible work schedule aligned with business needs.
