As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, and quality of life through the design of highways, bridges, transit and other transportation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Serve in the lead technical role in the detailed development of urban roadway design projects
- Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems
- Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in a specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity
- Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed
- Supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
- Manage day-to-day communication with the client, support, advise, and train junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep the project on schedule and within budget, and keep the client satisfied
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years design experience
- Experience designing urban arterials, rural highways, intersections, freeways, and/or multi-level interchanges.
- Oklahoma DOT Schematic and/or PS&E project experience
- Oklahoma municipality schematic and/or PS&E project experience
- Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, Microsoft Office applications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams
- Project management skills desirable
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans
- Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities, and layout of various site items is a plus
