Job summary

Apex Engineering Group seeks a Design Engineer in the Transportation Group with flexible hybrid work from any Apex office across multiple states, including MN and ND. You will help design highway and urban roadway projects from planning through construction.

As part of a project team, you’ll support CAD staff, communicate with project managers, and may take lead on projects or represent the owner in the field. Strong design and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• MN or ND Professional Engineer license preferred or ability to be licensed within 6–12 months.
• 5+ years of highway/roadway design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional civil engineering services: planning, design, specs, plans, reports, observation and project management.
• Delegate and supervise tasks to CAD Technicians, Graduate Engineers and Field Technicians.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and project managers on project progress.
• Attend company, project and client meetings.
• Participate in proposals and interviews for securing work; assist in business development.
