Job summary

Apex Engineering Group is seeking a Design Engineer for the Transportation Group. The role is flexible to work from any Apex office or hybrid, including Minot, ND.

You will contribute to highway and urban roadway projects from planning through design and construction, potentially leading project roles depending on experience. Responsibilities include design development, client and project team collaboration, and occasional field representation during construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• MN or ND PE license is preferred or ability to be licensed within 6–12 months.
• 5+ years highway/roadway design experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MNDOT or NDDOT design and project development is preferred.
• Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation Connect.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional civil engineering services: planning, design, specifications, plans, reports, construction observation and project management.
• Delegate and supervise tasks to CAD Technicians, Graduate Engineers and Field Technicians.
• Communicate updates and progress with supervisors and project managers.
• Attend company, project and client meetings regularly.
• Assist in proposals and business development; may lead to Project Manager responsibilities.
