Job summary
Apex Engineering Group is seeking a Design Engineer in the Transportation Group to work on highway and urban roadway projects from planning through design and construction. The position supports both independent and collaborative design efforts across multiple Apex offices, with hybrid work options.
The role leads design tasks, may evolve into project/ client management, and requires travel and overtime during construction season. Strong communication and CAD proficiency are essential.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering is required.
- Must be licensed or able to be licensed as a PE in MN/ND within 6–12 months.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional civil engineering services including planning, design, specifications, plans, reports, and construction observation.
- Delegate tasks to CAD Technicians and field staff; supervise project tasks.
- Attend project and client meetings; participate in interviews for work development.
- May take project engineer/owner's representative role in construction and budgets.
- Utilize CADD software following company/client procedures.
