Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead data-definition practices across its Transportation Business Group. This role focuses on ensuring consistent data definitions, reuse, and governance to enable better decision-making and project delivery.

Embedded in HDR's Transportation BG, this leadership position coordinates SMEs and technical authorities to align data practices with enterprise standards, enabling scalable analytics and AI-enabled insights across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in the Resources engineering industry.
• Experience leading diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Establish SME network to define technical standards and align with Transportation data practices.
• Develop business-aligned data definitions supporting models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Coordinate with technical leaders to align data workflows and initiatives.
• Promote responsible use of data, data quality, format standards, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets and lifecycle considerations.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards across Transportation BG.
