Transportation Construction Inspector

Location: Clarion, PA

Ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms, our Pittsburgh Construction Management Team seeks inspectors for PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike projects. This position does not qualify for employer-based sponsorship, except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
2. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
3. Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavements to ensure adherence to plans and codes.
4. Maintain accurate record documents and field notes.
5. Perform computations as needed.

Non-essential Functions

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Active driver's license and reliable vehicle, with successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience).
• 1-4 years of construction inspection experience.
• Proficiency with computers.

Preferred Experience

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Client-requested certifications.
