Job summary

Halff, a leading infrastructure consulting firm, seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to join the Public Works/Transportation team in our Austin, TX office for a summer internship from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027. The intern will assist with design, drafting, and analyses under professional supervision.

The role emphasizes collaboration on Public Works and Transportation projects, with full-time 40-hour weeks and hourly pay. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
• Great communication skills
• Solid relationship and team building skills
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
