Responsibilities

  • Assist in loading and unloading students at home and school.
  • Maintain discipline of children on the bus.
  • Prepare accident report whenever necessary for student injury.
  • Perform emergency first aid.
  • Prepare accident reports when necessary for student injury.
  • Attend first-aid and other training as directed by the Transportation Director.
  • Become knowledgeable in fire drill procedure.
  • Become knowledgeable in the use of fire extinguishers.
  • Apply safety restraining devices as requested by the principal or therapist.
  • Perform emergency first aid.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director.

Job description

QUALIFICATIONS

  2. Physically capable of lifting and balancing 40-60 pounds.
  3. Neat appearance; well groomed.
  4. Cooperative, positive and flexible in student-staff relationships.
  5. Must relate well with others, be adaptable to working with students.
  6. Must have patience, be considerate, have even temperament and be calm under stress.
  7. Experience preferred in working with students with special needs.
  8. Candidate must show dependability and initiative.
  9. Must pass criminal history background check as required by School Safety Legislation
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO
  1. Assist in the loading and unloading of students at home and at school.
  2. Maintain discipline of children on the bus.
  3. Assist in the assignment of students' seating.
  4. Help driver keep inside of bus clean.
  5. Prepare accident report whenever necessary for student injury.
  6. Attend first-aid classes, other para-medical procedures classes and other training at the direction of the Transportation Director.
  7. Become knowledgeable in fire drill procedure.
  8. Become knowledgeable in the use of fire extinguishers.
  9. Apply safety restraining devices as requested and authorized by the building principal and/or physical/occupational therapist.
  10. Perform emergency first aid.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director.
SALARY FOR CURRENT EMPLOYEES

Per AFSCME Transportation Bargaining Agreement.
