Job summary

Albany Medical College, part of Albany Med Health System in New York's Capital Region, seeks a board-certified or eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its evolving abdominal transplant program. The role blends transplant nephrology with general nephrology duties within a multidisciplinary academic team and an expanding program.

The ideal candidate will have fellowship training in transplant nephrology, be eligible for NY licensure, and demonstrate commitment to education, quality

Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited program.
• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in New York.
• Academic experience or interest sufficient for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to care.
• Commitment to education, quality improvement, and advancing transplant medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide a combined transplant nephrology and general nephrology practice.
• Inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary transplant rounds.
• Medical management of kidney transplant recipients including immunosuppression and graft function evaluation.
• Shared coverage of transplant-related inpatient consults and nephrology call duties.
• Outpatient transplant clinics including pre- and post-transplant evaluations and living donor assessments.
• Participate in organ offer review and recipient selection discussions; contribute to program development and quality improvement.
• Engage in teaching with residents, fellows, medical students, and APPs; pursue academic collaboration.
