Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its growing abdominal transplant program. This role combines transplant nephrology with general nephrology in a dynamic, academic environment.

The successful candidate will participate in inpatient rounds, outpatient clinics, and organ offer discussions, with teaching and leadership opportunities within the Albany Med Health System.

Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited program.
• MD/DO or equivalent with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care.
• Eligible for medical licensure in New York.
• Academic experience or interest sufficient for appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor level.
• Strong communication and a collaborative approach to care.
• Commitment to education, quality improvement, and advancing transplant medicine.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary transplant rounds.
• Outpatient transplant clinics including pre-transplant, living donor, and post-transplant follow-up.
• Participate in organ offer review and recipient selection discussions.
• Engage in quality improvement and program development.
• Academic appointment with teaching and clinical collaboration opportunities.
