Job summary

Advanced Medical Support Assistants (AMSA) in the transplant section provide administrative and clerical support, acting as a liaison between nursing staff, social workers, clinics, labs, operating room, and physicians in the assigned area.

The AMSA coordinates appointment management for Veterans and supports the care and treatment process by facilitating interdisciplinary communication with the patient, the team, VA medical centers, and other agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterans by performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support transplant services.
• Coordinate appointment management to ensure smooth scheduling and continuity of care.
• Serve as liaison between nursing staff, social workers, clinics/labs/operating room, physicians, VA centers and external agencies.
