Eversource Energy seeks a Senior Engineer to lead advanced power system modeling, EMT analysis, and planning studies. The role supports ISO‑NE coordination, NPCC, and industry standards while evaluating transmission options including lines, BESS, HVDC, and IBR integration.

Based in Hartford, CT or nearby, the position offers a hybrid work schedule with travel between MA/CT/NH as needed and opportunities to influence reliability and future grid evolution.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in transmission planning, operational studies, EMT transient analysis, and IBR modeling.
• Advanced knowledge of electric power theory and planning experience with power system modeling and simulation.
• Experience applying NERC TPL, NPCC, and ISO-NE procedures; familiarity with ANSI/IEEE standards.
• PE license preferred; advanced degrees or certifications considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead, conduct and present scenario and probabilistic based planning studies under various system conditions.
• Exchange study results and perform technical reviews of data and assumptions from stakeholders.
• Coordinate studies with vendors; summarize results in reports and presentations for leadership.
• Collaborate to develop planning standards for new technologies like PV, EV, and battery storage.
