Job summary

Eversource Energy seeks a Senior Engineer for Transmission System Planning to provide subject matter expertise in power system studies and project development, focusing on modeling and planning of transmission lines and substations.

The role interfaces with regional committees (NEPOOL, NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE) and offers a hybrid schedule with in-office work. Based in the Boston area or CT facilities is possible.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of directly related experience.
• Experience with power system transmission analysis tools (PSSE, TARA, ASPEN, PSCAD).
• Knowledge of Python and programming for analyses.
• Understanding of PV, electric vehicles and battery technologies.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to present analysis results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system models for transmission studies, including parameters and topology.
• Conduct adequacy assessments and propose options to meet delivery objectives.
• Interpret and apply industry and regulatory transmission planning standards and regulations.
• Represent the department on industry committees and engage with ISO-NE and utilities on regional studies.
• Collaborate with teams across Transmission Planning and Electric Operations to support budget and project delivery.
• Mentor junior staff in technical analyses and procedures.
