Eversource Energy is seeking an Engineer in System Planning to provide transmission-focused SME support for modeling and development of the transmission system. You will work on analyses such as power flow, transient stability, and short circuit, representing the company on regional committees (NEPOOL, NERC, NPCC, ISO‑NE).
The role is based in Hartford, CT or Berlin, CT and operates within a HYBRID framework.

We have an amazing opportunity to join our Transmission Systems Planning Team. The Engineer in System Planning provides transmission‑focused subject matter expertise in power system studies and project development by carrying out assignments associated with the modeling and development of the transmission system.
The role requires experience associated with the modeling, analyses, and planning level designs of transmission lines and substation facilities in an electric power system. Typical reliability studies include analyses of power flow, transient stability, short circuit, and electromagnetic transients. This position also represents the company on regional and national transmission committees regarding transmission planning matters for NEPOOL, NERC, NPCC, and ISO‑NE.
The role is based in Hartford CT or Berlin, CT.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
3 – 5 years of directly related experience.
HYBRID: Eversource supports work‑life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or if the policy changes.

$100,490.00–$111,660.00
