Job summary

FirstEnergy seeks a Supervisor of Transmission Line Engineering Standards to lead the development, governance, and continuous improvement of standards for overhead transmission facilities up to 765 kV. The role entails directing a team of engineers, ensuring code compliance, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable transmission designs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited program; PE license preferred.
Demonstrated experience applying codes and design references to transmission line work.
Excellent technical writing and ability to communicate complex requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead development and governance of transmission line standards and criteria.
Ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective design practices across 34.5–765 kV.
Provide day-to-day technical direction for standards interpretation and deviations.
Coordinate with design, construction, planning, and external stakeholders.
Review design criteria against NESC, IEEE, PJM, ANSI, and other codes.
Supervise engineers, designers, and technical specialists in the team.
