Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Planner to join our Energy & Systems Solutions team in the United States. You will perform transmission planning analyses, manage projects, and mentor junior staff while expanding client relationships with utilities and regional planners.

You will use tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP and CAPE/APA. Travel to project sites (<10%) and strong communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required with 3+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 2+ years.
• Experience in transmission analytics (load flow, stability, short circuit) and power theory.
• FERC Open Access Transmission Tariff, NERC standards knowledge is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client relationships and expand the client base.
• Perform transmission planning analyses under senior-engineer direction.
• Sales and business development activities will be expected.
• Apply QA/QC procedures and review feedback.
• Lead or participate in transmission studies; mentor junior staff.
• Contribute to technical writing for proposals and RFIs.
• Present in industry forums and conferences as opportunities arise.
