Job summary

Leidos in Reston, Virginia seeks a Transmission Planner to contribute to our Energy & Systems Solutions practice, delivering transmission planning analyses and project management for utilities, developers, and regional planners. You will build client relationships and lead studies with QA/QC and industry standards.

You will work with tools like PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, and become a mentor to junior staff while contributing to proposals and RFIs. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required with 3+ years of experience; Master’s with 2+ years also acceptable.
• Experience with transmission analytics (load flow, stability, protection, short-circuit) and knowledge of power system theory.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in team and lead studies.
• Willingness to travel to project/client sites (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client relationships and contribute to growth of Transmission Planning services.
• Perform transmission planning analyses under senior-engineer direction with QA/QC.
• Participate in sales and business development activities.
• Contribute to proposals and RFIs; represent at industry forums and conferences.
