Leidos is seeking a Transmission Planner to join our Energy & Systems Solutions group. The role combines engineering and project management to support transmission planning studies for municipal utilities, IOUs, regional planning organizations, and developers.

The candidate will mentor junior staff, manage complex studies, and contribute to client relationships and business development while applying power system analysis concepts and using industry tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, and

Qualificações

• Graduate engineer with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 2+ years.
• Experience in transmission analytics: load flow, stability, protection, short-circuit studies.
• Knowledge of FERC Open Access Tariff, NERC standards, LGIP/LGIP procedures helpful.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project/client sites.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain client relationships and expand the client base.
• Perform transmission planning analyses under senior engineer guidance.
• Engage in sales and business development activities.
• Apply power system theory to planning studies and ensure QA/QC.
• Lead and mentor junior staff on transmission studies.
• Contribute to technical writing for proposals and RFIs/RFPs.
• Present at industry forums and conferences when opportunities arise.
