Leidos LLC is seeking an Associate Planning Engineer within our Energy & Systems Solutions team. You will provide transmission planning support under supervision on projects for municipal utilities, IOUs, and regional planning bodies.

The role emphasizes foundational engineering work, with opportunities to develop expertise in load flow, short circuit analysis, and power system planning using industry tools. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
0–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge of load flow, short circuit, and basic circuitry in electrical engineering domain.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day objectives on project teams with limited impact beyond assigned scope.
Apply basic electrical engineering principles to support transmission planning and power system analysis.
Utilize industry-standard analytical tools for engineering analyses (ETAP, SKM, CYME, etc.).
Assist in technical writing of project findings and basic analysis for reports.
Communicate findings and engineering processes with peers.
Learn to apply NERC, FERC policies, or IEEE standards to projects.
Travel to project or client sites as required for data collection or meetings.
