Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Planner to contribute as an engineer and project manager within our Energy & Systems Solutions practice. This role supports the expansion of Transmission Planning services for municipal utilities, IOUs, and regional planners.

You will build client relationships, perform analyses such as load flow and stability studies under senior guidance, mentor junior staff, contribute to proposals, and represent Leidos at industry forums. Travel is required (<10%).

Qualifications

B.S. Electrical engineering with 3+ years of experience or M.S. with 2+ years of experience.
Experience in transmission analytics: load flow, stability, protection, and short circuit studies.
Knowledge of FERC OATT, NERC standards, LGIP/LGIP and related study practices.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain client relationships and help expand the client base.
Perform transmission planning analyses under senior engineer direction with QA/QC.
Engage in sales and business development activities.
Contribute to technical writing for proposals and RFIs/RFPs.
Present at industry forums and conferences when opportunities arise.
